DP World’s Jebel Ali Port achieved a remarkable milestone in July 2024, setting a new monthly container throughput record of 1.4 million TEU, surpassing its previous high from 2015. This achievement builds on a robust performance in the first half of the year, during which the port handled 7.3 million TEU, marking a 3.9% increase year-on-year. The growth has been driven by strong inbound cargo movements, particularly from major Asian markets such as China, Japan, and South Korea.

This record-breaking performance underscores the continued expansion and success of Dubai under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The ongoing development of Jafza has also played a crucial role in boosting container traffic through Jebel Ali Port.

Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & Managing Director of DP World GCC, stated, “Our new record at Jebel Ali Port exemplifies our dedication to excellence in global trade. We expect ongoing growth as we leverage our extensive global network and capitalize on emerging trade opportunities from national trade agreements.”

Globally, DP World has also seen significant success, with total consolidated throughput reaching 42.58 million TEU in the first half of 2024, a 6.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
